THE TOWER SHONAN TSUJIDO
THE TOWER
SHONAN TSUJIDO
“Shaping a Place For
the People Who Live Here,
A New Gateway to Shonan”
On the south side of Tsujido Station lies a calm streetscape that gently leads toward the sea.
Yet, the station's shopping street, dotted with narrow rotaries and aging buildings had begun to lose the very identity that once defined Tsujido.
With the question, “What should a human-scaled gateway to Shonan look like?” at the heart of our approach, we engaged in countless discussions with local residents and government officials. Over many years, we carefully envisioned what the future of this area could, and should be.
This vision gave rise to a series of people-first urban spaces:
a spacious public plaza that opens up the station front, a pedestrian deck that connects the town on multiple levels, and a lively sequence of storefronts extending all the way to the southern roadway. Together, these elements create both vibrancy and comfort for all who pass through.
We sincerely hope that this initiative fosters a seamless flow of activity between the north and south sides of the station, contributes to the revitalization of the entire community, and ultimately becomes a source of pride for those who call Shonan Tsujido home.
A New Expression of Shonan,
Where Diverse Lifestyles
Flourish.
For years, Shonan living has been synonymous with a calm rhythm of life—enjoying the sea, embracing nature, and cherishing slow, restorative time.
Today, however, remote work and evolving lifestyles have brought new expectations: a way of living that harmonizes urban convenience with the richness of the natural environment.
THE TOWER SHONAN TSUJIDO was created in response to this shift, offering a new residential concept for a changing era.
Within a daily life filled with the sea, the breeze, and natural light, it cultivates spaces of quietude, comfort and meaningful connection.
For those who move fluidly between the city center and Shonan,
for families who treasure their time by the ocean,
for individuals seeking a lifestyle that reflects who they truly are—
this is a home that embraces diverse values and ways of living.
As these varied lives intersect, new communities will take root, nurturing new cultures and new forms of connection.
It is this dynamic cycle—of people, place, and possibility—that lies at the heart of our vision for this development.
A New Landmark of Shonan
Tsujido,
Linking the City and the Sea.
The wide expanse of blue sea and sky, the gentle coastal breeze—
Tsujido is a place where nature and urban comfort coexist in harmony.
With Terrace Mall Shonan at the station front, along with schools, medical facilities, and parks, the area has grown into one of Shonan’s most representative and desirable communities.
While surrounded by the richness of nature, residents enjoy seamless connectivity to Yokohama and central Tokyo.
A newly built pedestrian deck directly links the station to the residence’s entrance, enhancing ease of movement and the overall pedestrian experience.
At the heart of this new gateway rises a landmark tower:
a 29-story, approximately 99-meter-tall development with direct station access (2 minutes on foot), offering 196 residences along with 11 commercial units.
This tower—one of the most prominent in the Shonan region—stands as a symbol of a lifestyle that blends the convenience of the city with the tranquility of coastal living.
The new pedestrian deck weaves together the station, the entrance, and the surrounding cityscape, creating a place where the ocean breeze and urban convenience come together as a defining expression of the next chapter of Shonan Tsujido.
Design That Breathes with
the Spirit of Shonan
Our aim was to create architecture that quietly resides in harmony with the local climate and culture of Shonan—
a building that feels rooted in its surroundings while embracing the natural landscape.
The tower, conceived as the project’s defining symbol, avoids an overly imposing presence.
Instead, it achieves a refined sense of transparency that blends seamlessly with its environment, paired with minimal, carefully crafted details that frame the sky.
The result is a design that is simple yet expressive, combining Shonan’s natural warmth with a modern aesthetic.
The exterior and entrance design of this project is supervised by the globally renowned designer Yasumichi Morita (Glamorous Designer).
Through his vision, the tower has been realized as a quiet yet enduring symbol—
a structure that breathes with Shonan’s future.
Timeless Landmark Aesthetics
A tower form defined by transparency and earthy-textured tiles creates a harmonious presence within the cityscape, expressing a beauty that endures over time.
A Grand Entrance Experience
An inviting space featuring natural wood, a reflective water feature, and a sculptural spiral staircase.
Interiors supervised by Cassina bring refined functionality and design excellence to life.
